The painting of the women holding hands on the beach was completed several years ago and donated to be auctioned at a golf tournament in Georgetown, Texas to benefit the wonderful Haleycurls For Hope Foundation.  This nonprofit is in loving memory of Haley Batten, daughter and granddaughter of friends of our family.  I was thrilled to learn that Haley's grandparents, Kathy and Curthis Hehman, purchased the painting at the auction and have it hanging in their home.  The primary focus of this amazing foundation is improving the lives of children and familes who spend weeks and moths living at Dell Children's Medical Center.  Through Haley's journey, so much was learned about the difficulties and stresses of hospital life and the ways to make it a little more bearable, and so the foundation was created to help others along that journey and has brought smiles and light to so many.  Some ways they help are hospital room decorating, emergency bill payment, and education/awareness.  I was blessed to get to join them one trip in decoration a few children's starch white hospital rooms with brightly colored themes and characters the children had individually picked for their rooms after treatments or surgeries to find their newly decorate rooms and bedding personalized just for them brought so much light, joy, and comfort to them as well as happiness to us, their families, and the medical team.  I shall never forget those moments and souls.  Haley's mother, grandmother, and my mom and other volunteers do this often together through funds raised and donated to Haleycurls For Hope Foundation, and they inspire me to want to do more.  The foundation also supports other charities in our community, as well.  Haley's diagnosis was Histiocytosis which is a disorder involving abnormal increases in immune cells.  If you would like to learn more or would like to get involved, please check them out at
